Description
The Amber Squad return with “Three Parts Shot Away”, a high-octane powerpop single on Detour Records (DR171), backed with “Stop the World”.
A ringing guitar introduction and trademark vocal harmonies drive the A-side, pairing melodic punch with lyrics about weathering life in a fractured society. Its title comes from a phrase singer Richard Beechey’s late father, Charlie, used after one glass of red too many.
“Stop the World” turns a dysfunctional romantic encounter into a sharp, hard-hitting B-side, with spiky backing and an immediate live-band feel. Both tracks were recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering, engineered and mixed by Neil Haynes.
Released in July 2026 on 45 RPM vinyl, this 7-inch delivers two contrasting sides without sacrificing energy. A strong pick for powerpop collectors and mod DJs who want vocal harmonies, guitar bite and songs with something to say.
