Description

As a backing band, the Spanish vintage reggae septet Mighty Megatons completes two unfinished songs by ska legend Laurel Aitken from his studio archives.
DJ 7" single on Liquidator.
The singer and musician Laurel Aitken, who died in 2005, was one of the most renowned and best-known representatives of Jamaican music and, along with Desmond Dekker, was one of the founders of ska. Born in Cuba and raised in West Kingston (Jamaica), In the early 1960s, Aitken created the typical ska sound from rhythm'n'blues, mento, calypso, soul and jazz and created classics such as "Sally Brown" and "Skinhead Train". Laurel Aitken continued to perform live into old age always recorded new music, leaving behind a large archive of unfinished recordings and demo versions.
After the great success of "Shoeshine Boy" and "Woman A Go Mad Me", the Mighty Megatons have now recorded "Suddenly We Don't" in the studio "Talk Anymore" and the conscious roots gem "Judgement Pon Di Land" were carefully composed and arranged. The band played the new and completed tracks on tape, so to speak, under Aitken's vocal tracks. Another surprising "re-release" from the genre hero!
