Description
"Rock Billy Boogie" is the track that named a genre. Recorded by Johnny Burnette & The Rock And Roll Trio for Coral Records in 1957 — their final year together, but released under Johnny's name alone. This is a barnstorming, full-throttle celebration of everything that made the Trio one of Memphis's most explosive acts. Paul Burlison's proto-fuzz guitar is front and centre, brothers Johnny and Dorsey Burnette locked in tight, and the energy is absolutely uncontainable.
The flip "If You Want It Enough" shows the Trio's softer, more melodic side. A perfect counterpoint to the mayhem of the A-side. The fifth and final piece of the essential Burnette Trio 7-inch series — current reissue of the 1957 Coral original.
