60 reggae, rocksteady and ska classics on 3 compact discs. Put together in 2015, this compilation showcases the influence reggae label Trojan has had on the music scene to this day. The following applies to the title selection on »This Is Trojan«: »Just hits, no misses!«, as the saying goes.
Featuring Dennis Brown, Desmond Dekker, Lee Perry and many other artists of the golden reggae era. In 2003 the book "Young, Gifted And Black, The Story Of Trojan Records" by the authors Michael de Koningh and Laurence Cane-Honeysett was published, which impressively reviews the history of the label, illuminates and shows the beginnings of Bob Marley in the context that in the era next to Mowtown only Trojan worked so specifically for a music culture. The liner notes for this 3 CD set are by Don Letts.
