Description
The late 1960s was a period of great upheaval in the Jamaican music industry, as the new sound of Reggae swept all before it. Along with the new, dynamic style came further changes, most immediately the elevation of sound system DJs from dancehall comperes to major recording stars.
This collection highlights the early development of toasting on disc between 1969 and 1973, and includes major Jamaican hits performed by some of the greatest exponents of the DJ sound.
