East of Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, The Steps were fifteen years old and already writing hooks sharp enough to draw blood. Universal Studios collects twelve songs of lean, caffeinated punk-pop that pulls from the Buzzcocks' melodic urgency, the Descendents' self-deprecating wit, and The Dickies' absurdist bounce thug-pop with a grin.
Originally circulated through local flyers and the Valley Blvd Comp, the band's 1985 7-inch EP has since become a serious collector's item. This 2026 LP debut brings all twelve tracks together for the first time, remastered by Jack Control (FEAR, Stiv Bators, 999) and — fittingly — pressed as the final record ever run at TKO's Cascade Record Pressing.
On limited red vinyl. For fans of classic LA punk, early power pop, and records that tell a story just by existing.
