Alvin 'G.G.' Ranglin shaped the sound of late-60s Jamaica with a unique approach that made him one of the most beloved producers among Jamaican music fans yet he remains criminally overlooked today.
This Doctor Bird 2CD set (DBCDD098) brings together expanded versions of two classic Boss Reggae LPs from Trojan Records (1970) "Reggae Flight 404" and "Man From Carolina" both new to CD, with many individual tracks also receiving their CD debut. Over two hours of essential early Reggae from the period when the beat was at its most exciting and frenetic, compiled with the care these recordings deserve.
