Various - MOUNTAIN of SOUL - 4-CD Box

Mountain of Soul: 101 Northern Soul Sounds explores Britain’s enduring Northern Soul culture across four CDs, accompanied by a fully illustrated 36-page book. Released by Charly Records as a limited-edition booklet-style set, CHARLY796CD draws deep from the label’s historic catalogue.

The collection includes many tracks appearing on CD for the first time, alongside recordings featured in the 2026 documentary Still Burning. Personal contributions from former Wigan Casino DJs Richard Searling, Kev Roberts, Dave Evison and Russ Winstanley join perspectives from collectors, commentators and dance champions, connecting the music with the people who helped shape the scene.

For newcomers, it’s an expansive introduction; for committed soul collectors, the new-to-CD material and accompanying book provide reasons to dig deeper. A substantial addition to any Northern Soul collection, bringing 101 sounds and decades of dancefloor devotion together in one set.
