Descripción

After three years of interviews, research, and tracking down records lost in time, The Dreamy Side is ready. A tribute to the generation who were 13-14-15 years-old in 1952 Los Angeles. Chicano kids who were the first to buy the records that have survived in the barrios for 70 years. RUBEN MOLINA examines the relationship between Black and Brown cultures and the DJs that made it possible.

The book is 152 pages, hard cover book. It goes through year-by-year from 1951-1959 with full color record label scans and a special section called “plaquiasos” where artists from 30+ barrios around Los Angeles, and some original tags going back to the 1950s pay tribute to L.A.’s ‘hood culture and the records that became synonymous with it.

It's a limited print - All copies are signed by the author!

US import - due to incredibly high shipping and custom fees, it's very expensive, but it's worth it!
