Established in 1999 and based in Altona, Hamburg (Germany), Copasetic Mailorder has grown into a dedicated hub for lovers of authentic vinyl culture. What started as a passion project has become a long-running mailorder service focused on carefully selected music for DJs, collectors, and record enthusiasts worldwide.
At the core of Copasetic is a deep love for 60s and 70s Jamaican music – including Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Rhythm & Blues, and Soul. Alongside this foundation, the selection expands into related and equally essential styles such as Garage, Mod, Rock’n’Roll, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, and other sounds I genuinely dig.
While vinyl is my main focus, I also stock CDs, books, merchandise, DJ equipment, and music-related accessories, always selected with the same collector-driven mindset. Every item in the catalogue reflects a simple philosophy: music first, quality always.
This is truly a mailorder service from collectors for collectors – vinyl is not just a product here, it is our occupation and passion.
What does “Copasetic” actually mean?
The name Copasetic has more than one layer of meaning:
- In Jamaican Patois, it is often used to describe something as “everything is cool”
- It is also the title of a Rocksteady tune recorded by The Rulers in 1966, produced by Sir JJ Johnson
Both meanings perfectly reflect what Copasetic stands for: good vibes, timeless music, and a deep connection to sound system and music culture.
