Description

John Mayall came from Macclesfield, Cheshire, and grew up in Cheadle Hulme. He had already made a name for himself in the Manchester blues scene before moving to London in 1963 at the urging of Alexis Korner.
In the summer of 1966, Clapton left the band to form Cream with former bluesbreaker Jack Bruce.
Mayall never looked back, rehiring East London guitarist Peter Green, who had previously filled in for Clapton.
Undoubtedly Clapton's equal, but with a marked difference in style, Green's signature sound enlivens the 1967 album "A Hard Road."
Hughie Flint was replaced by Aynsley Dunbar on drums, and the characteristic interpretation of Chicago blues became harder.
