Description
The heavy vinyl version of the only album recorded by Texas blues legend Sam LIGHTNIN 'HOPKINS for the psychedelic sub-label International Artists.
Banned on tape in January 1968, "Free From Patterns" stands out from the discography because the line-up of the sessions is unusual - the blues veteran gets support from a young hip rhythm section made up of Danny Thomas and Duke Davis from the 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS, who are too were on Acid during the period.
"Free Form Patterns" is not a stranded hybrid of hippie / blues, but a sincere blues album with the big man, who is supported by fans who happened to be members of a legendary Psych band. The specialty lies in the merging of different generations and the crossing of borders in repressive Texas in the late sixties.
