Description
King Tubby didn't just mix records he invented an entirely new art form. The legendary Kingston engineer who pioneered dub in the late 1960s and early 1970s is the direct ancestor of hip hop, jungle, garage, and dubstep.
"Majestic Dub", first released on the British Star label in 1981, is one of his finest works: recorded at his famous Kingston studio with an extraordinary cast including Sly & Robbie, Jackie Mittoo, Earl "Chinna" Smith, Winston Wright, Willie Lindo, Noel "Skully" Simms and Uziah "Sticky" Thompson.
Now Charly Records presents a vinyl reissue of this dub landmark, pressed on 140g black vinyl. Essential for dub devotees, reggae collectors, and anyone who wants to understand where modern electronic music began. New vinyl. Available now at Copasetic Mailorder.
