The Original Sound Of Funk 1960-75
After the successful compilation series "Nu Yorica" and "Dynamite", the busy London label Soul Jazz started in 2000 to dedicate itself to the funk of "Big Easy", as the city on the Mississippi delta is often called.
New Orleans Funk" kicked off with songs by the great artists who had a decisive influence on this style. Besides classics like Aaron Neville's "Hercules" or Eddie Bos' "Hook And Sling" there are also rare pieces that filled the dance floors at their time.
The songs range from the beginnings of the early 1960s to the wedding of Funks in the mid-seventies. The republication of the LP corresponds to the original edition of 2000.
